The Los Angeles Zoo is home to more than one thousands animals and over two-hundred fifty species, of which, twenty-nine are considered endangered. The LA Zoo covers over 130 acres and is located at the intersection of the Golden State and Ventura expressways in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens receives over one-and-a-half million visitors each year and is a vital institution for the local community and its visitors.

The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and is the official support organization of the Zoo. Contributions to GLAZA provide support for exhibits for the animals, conservation programs, and provide important education outreach to the community.

Alex Kouba is a supporter of the Los Angeles Zoo because of its impact it has on the LA community and economy. The Zoo also serves as an important educational resource for children during the summer and holiday months.
